Good morning world!
Anaya and I are back home. She responded really well to the antibiotics and all the love she received in the hospital. She is still dealing with a stuffy nose but her lungs are clear. Thank you to everyone who helped with her recovery - by pumping milk, bringing food, visiting, praying and sending your well-wishes.

The day we went into the hospital our dog Alexander died in a tragic accident. As a family we've been grieving his loss. Pets come so close to the heart. I believe he thought of himself as Anaya's protector. He used to keep other dogs away from her - and strange people too. Now I'm certain his spirit will be there to guide and protect her as she continues on her journey. She was the only one he kissed every morning. A little delicate lick on the cheek. It was always the sweetest thing to witness.

He had his faults but we loved him anyway and he will be and is sorely missed.

Rest Peacefully Alexander. I hope to see you in my dreams and I'm counting on you to be there for your baby girl when she needs you.

  1. Glad for you to be home. Too bad about Alexander; I also had such a dog who never left Segev's side on walks and chased away any other dogs, she was like a surrogate mother to my kids.

  2. I am sooo happy you and Anaya are back home, I have been thinking of you and sending positive energy your way. I am deeply sorry for your loss of Alexander. He was a beautiful dog and I know he will be watching over Anaya where ever he is.
My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

  3. I'm happy Anaya is better and able to be home again. And so sad about Alexander. We will miss him. The kids and I miss you guys.

  4. I am so sorry about Alexander. Next to our children, pets hold the biggest part of our hearts. They are loving, accepting, forgiving, and in Alexander's case, protective. Anaya will miss him, too. My prayers are, as always, with you.

  5. I am so sorry to hear about Alexander. He would often surprise me standing majestically outside my kitchen window. He was his own "dog" and he WILL be watching over Anaya wherever he is...
